Well friends, here it is! Please follow the link below to view what Mrs. Ebertowski's fourth grade students did with this project. They were so excited. Although I have to admit, their voices are usually not this soft, they did an awesome job. I played it back to the whole class. I could not get over their excitement and big smiles! What a wonderful way to end the semester...I am going to miss this class and Mrs. Ebertowski very much.

Pre TIE Plan Implementing Voice Thread Technology
My lesson plan which will integrate technology is a 4th grade Social Studies lesson covering "Life on the Texas Frontier." When introduced to 1855 Texas and the lives of frontier boys and girls, the 4th grade students will apply their knowledge and discover similarities and differences between themselves and a frontier child. Students will compare their lives with those of frontier boys and girls, making inferences and drawing conclusions about life on the Texas frontier. Students will also evaluate pros and cons of frontier life and draw a scene of what they think the frontier was like in mid 1800s.
For the voice thread technology which I plan on implementing, the students will describe using voice thread what they might have like or disliked about living on the Texas frontier as well as describe their scene.
(9) Geography. The student understands how people adapt to and modify their environment. The student is expected to:

Google Docs
I am still unsure as to what I am doing but here goes. I was reading and can see where google docs can be an important part to any lesson. Students are able to use powerpoints to present their research. They have access to word processing, spreadsheets where they can input formulas to calculate sums, sort, etc. and utilize all that comes with these programs. I am 46 years old and just now learning. I can just imagine what is at the fingertips of these young students when they are allowed to experiment and learn all that is available through google docs and how they will grow with technology. I just wish I would have had more training before now so this would not be so frustrating for me. Again, I am eager to learn!

T.I.E. Plan
How do I plan on effectively using the available hardware so all students can gain access to the
hardware and tools? See my TIE activity plan.

Using Hots for Blogs in Classroom
This is all new to me but I can see where it can be interactive. Implementing the higher order thinking amongst students is a great way to integrate the technology skills.
I've come back after a couple of days off to figure this out. I am still unsure as to how all this works but am eager to learn. I visited this site (still not too sure how to post the link):
http://www.edzone.net/%7Emwestern/stuff.htm
which has a lot of "stuff" for students to use in the classroom while on the computer. It is very interesting and has a lot of places that students can go to to get practice for math, language arts, social studies, etc. It is all kid friendly. I hope you get to visit this site and enjoy it as much as I did.
